Maybe it’s not as obvious choice as Seattle or Portland, but Vancouver’s coffee scene is currently blooming. With a dozen excellent coffee roasters and even more outstanding coffee shops it’s a perfect place for coffee aficionado. And here are some of the best spots to try espressos, chemexs, and lattes.
Matchstick Coffee Roasters
It’s one of those places; you want to go and hang out. With minimal decor and the highest level of appreciation for good beans, it’s a real gem. People who are responsible for roasting Matchstick’s coffee understand the need for sustainable growth and the entire process of making coffee, from plantation to serving. And they willingly share their philosophy with their customers.
“When people purchase our products, we want to illuminate their direct contribution to a well-researched and vetted supply chain, which takes into account as many pieces of the puzzle as possible, and ultimately helps enrich the lives of everyone involved. It’s a lot to try to fit into a small bag of coffee, but it’s what makes this worthwhile.”

REVOLVER
If you want to try something different Revolver is your place. With coffees from world-class roasters around North America and beyond, including some of the best European coffee roasters it’s one of the best coffee shops in this part of the world. You can try here coffee brewed in all possible ways. They may sometimes seem to focus on technical details, but they never forget about the taste of the brew. It’s a must try place for every coffee geek.
“We like being consistent, so we measure and weigh every variable there is, until there isn’t. And we like details, of which coffee is but one of many in a finely tuned life. But it’s such an important one, isn’t it?”

In the heart of Vancouver’s most historic district – Gastown you’ll find a charming coffee shop called TIMBERTRAIN. They only serve their own coffee, roasted in Vancouver warehouse. And believe us it is good! The space inside may not be and the largest, but it has been designed so it can accommodate quite a few enthusiasts of a cup of coffee.
“Our slow bar encompasses our dedication to taste and flavour; we brew our freshly roasted coffee beans with methodical, measured, and mastered technique. This slow and meticulous process is our labour of love and sets us apart from the rest. We invite you to share and experience our coffee with us and know that with each carefully crafted coffee, you’ll taste, feel, and see our passion.”
